OUR INSPIRATION & PROCESS
Our contemporary and minimalist jewelry is influenced by a number of diverse sources. The designs are all structural, linear, and contemporary - inspired by Candace's love of science as well as her affinity for art, architecture, nature, and African and abstract objects. Looking at buildings, bridges, or wrought-iron gates can help her envision the elements that would become a necklace, earrings or a bracelet.
Typically, the idea for any given piece comes from a single gemstone, which inspires the design around it.
After a design is conceived, Candace uses tools like hammers, punches, and dies to form shapes using recycled sterling silver wire or sheets. She sets all stones herself, using thick bezels.
Overall, she strives to design jewelry with some elements of movement or flow.
